I will be happy to trade any information that you have available with what I have been able to find. I just started on this project and am enjoying finding out as much as possibile about all my ancestors. My great grand father emigrated from Norway approx 1850 as Solvi Solveson and changed his name to Solway. He settled in Door County with the Klinkenbergs, and they spread out. I have my Family Tree and the Klinkenbergs shown on Parsons Genealogy Register. You can view what I have so far on "http://www.parsonstech.com/genealogy/trees/lsolway/klinkenb...." . Please let me hear from you soon. I plan on going back to Door County next month to do some more research. Perhaps with your background you can give me some tips on how and what to look for.

My great grandfather's name was Wilhelm Klinkenberg. He came from Germany to the states thru NY and changed his name to William Klinkenberger. He married Katharina Fuchs in 1897 (Mt. Oliver, PA). Right Klinkenberg? Let me know! Also, there are a lot of Klinkenberg's from the Netherlands.

None of the names you mentioned ring a bell with me. For a list of the Klinkenbergs that I have found, you can access them at Parson's Genealogy Register. If you have more information, please contact me. I believe Lars Klinkenberg came from Milwaukee, before he came to Green Bay and then on to Sevastopol (adjacent to Sturgeon Bay) in Door County.

Hello, I have just read this old message posted in 1999. Are you looking for the Klingenbergs of Door County, Wisconsin? Many of them settled on Washington Island during the 1800s. If you would like to exchange information, please let me know.
