I am looking for information on Denise Richier. Her estimated date of birth is between 1920 and 1927 in France. She was living in Nice, France in 1945. I am trying to find out if she ever married and what happened to her after WW2.

I'm hoping someone who lives in the South of France and reads this boards will offer to do some leg work for you.

I have very little access to records for people who could possibly still be alive (I have pretty good luck finding their ancestors) but I'll do my best to see if I can find out anything for you.

Do you know anything else about her? Any little bits of information will be helpful such as:
Do you have the names of any of her relatives?
Do you know where she lived before she went to Nice?
Do you know her occupation?

I came across letters that Denise had written to a US GI during the war - specifically in June and August of 1945. Her address at that time was 7 Rue Miroy, Nice, France. The post mark on all three envelopes says Alpes Marme and Nice. The letters are written in French and I am planning to get them translated. There is a rough English translation included with the letters. The recipient had them translated back in 1945 and took notes.
I did locate a family tree with Denise Richier on ancestry.com. That Denise was born in 1922, which would fit my timeline of her birth. She is shown as married with one child. I believe that woman died in 1995. I'm just not sure it's the same woman.

Could her address be rue Miron instead of Miroy? There is no rue Miroy in Nice, in fact the only one I can find is in Quebec. I do know that there are apartments at 7 rue Miron in Nice. I can send you a picture of them if you'd like.

I'd be happy to translate the letters for you. Do you have a scanner or know someone who could scan them for you?

I've been able to rule out the Denise in Rouen. I have found a Richier family at 7 rue Miron in Nice. Denise was probably their niece. I'm sending you an eamil with the pictures of the apartments and all the information I've uncovered so far.
