I had a g-g-grandmother named Elizabeth Dennison born around Columbus,Ohio in 1832.
She had a sister named Harriet Dennison who married a Nichols. Two of Harriet's children were Will and Mary. Any known connection to your family? Let me know. Bev Peterson

David Dennison's wife was Mary Ann Douglass. They had seven children, James D, John (mar. Jan Morehead) , Huston, Wiley (my gggg-grandfather), Jane, Malinda, and Nancy.

David did have brothers and sisters. I off hand know of Thomas, James, and possibly William. Thomas, David, James were born in Augusta Co. VA in the mid-late 1700. Augusta Co VA in mid 1700's was what now is KY. They owned land adjacent to each other in Bourbon Co KY and lived near Daniel and William Dennison. Bourbon Co. KY was formed from Augusta Co VA, then Kentucky Co VA, and then Fayette Co. In about 1790 David and Thomas married sisters and move to Madison Co. Ohio in the early 1800's.

David's father was possibly Daniel Denniston (II or III) of Augusta (later Rockingham VA) and a possible grandson or g-grandson of Daniel Denniston (I). Daniel Denniston (I) came for Ireland some time in the early 1700's with Wife Sarah, daughter Ann and possible Daniel (II). His died about 1749 and a will exists.

What part of the John Dennison family tree are you from? I know of 4 of his children James W, Burr Wright, Milton White, and Jane.

I have more info but for now I hope this helps. My email is and I would like to discuss it further via email.

Please feel free to contact me.

Finally found someone with the same ancestors
as mine. My ancestor is Huston, son of David
Mary Ann Douglass. I hope our information
is the same. Let me hear from you.

Chris. Sorry to write again so soon but just
notices your ancestor was Wiley who seems to
be an enigma. Everyone I know has been trying to find him. We know he married Sally
Wilson but it stops there. Did he live in
Fulton county, Ill. with his brother Huston.
Huston married Sarah Roby and she was living in Knox Co. in 1850. She remarried and moved
to Iowa. Tell me more about Wiley. Than you.

It is good to hear from you!

Which one of Huston and Sarah's children are you a decendant of? Martin, Nancy, Martha, Notley, John, Delitha, Bazilm or Mary?

Huston moved from Madison Co. OH to Warren County IN before 1830. His brother Wiley (my GGGG grandfather) moved from Madison Co. OH to Warren Co. IN in 1830 with his wife Sally and their son (John) and daughter (?). Huston appears in the 1830 FED census for IN and Wiley appears in the 1830 FED census for OH and IN.

Wiley and Sally had at least one more son, McDowell White Denison born July 01, 1831 in Fulton Co. IN, the County just to the south of Warren Co IN.

Wiley and/or Sally must of died young because John and McDowell Denison are listed in the Madison Co. Ohio Probate Office, Civil Docket #51 Aa 180 (1842) (only a record of this document has been obtainted)(I'm working on it....). John Creath is listed as their Guardian. John Creath was an older brother to Samuel Creath, the husband of Nancy Denison (Younger Sister of Huston and Wiley). In any event McDowell eventully moved in with his uncle Huston in Fulton Co. IL.

Later, McDowell move with his Cousin Martin, and older brother John (my GGG grandfather) to Washington Co IA.

I want to share info with you!

My email address is please write me an email and I will write you back.

I was re-reading your e-mail and needed to ask you some more questions. I tried to copy
your letter on my printer but nothing ever
happens. Would it be too much for you to copy it again on my new e-mail address? Or
just write me at shirley perkins 1446 N. 750 E. Kaysville, UT 84037.
Waiting to hear from you. Your letter was so
interesting. I need to contact some other people, oh, did you contact Rachel Dennison?
Take care, Shirley

Could Will be short for William? If so, I would appreciate any info you may have since I've had such a hard time finding info on my g granddad. His name was William Dennison. He married Margaret Claymon had 8 children. Anything ring a bell?

Surnames: DEnnison, Weaver,
My James Dennison was born about 1844--married Elizabeth Harriet Weaver. Does any of this match the James Dennison you mentioned as son of David.
