Hi I just read your messages about how you can find reletives from Castelevetrano. Joseph Barone Vedina Tedoni and Rose and Joseph Curia . I am at a dead block about my family . All the Barones I hear about are not my Barones . Never Curia or Tedoni. Any info would be wonderful. Their children arrived here in 1911 to the St Louis MO area. Thanks Marie

Hi Dave, Oh my gosh, I am so excited to hear from you. My great grandmother's maiden name was Vedina Tedoni. She was from Castelevetrano Sicily. All I know is that she had several husbands. Barone was one of the husbands. She had several children Catherine, Vito and John Barone. They all came to St Louis. But Great grandma stayed in Sicily. My grandma Cratherine married Joseph Curia in Sicily before the came here and settled in St Louis. Who are your relatives ? Marie

Take a deep breath Marie. Based on what my father has told me, I am guessing we are not related but I will be sure to show him your post. He did a lot of research years ago and it appears an ancestor somewhere was adopted and the last name was derived from several names. He is 80 years old is is truly the one to talk to. He does not have access to email.

Let me show him your post and I will then get back to you. Have a great day.

Dave

Marie,
There aren't many known Tedoni's here in St. Louis. I thought I know them all. Know one has heard of a Ned Tedoni.

If you do not mind, I would suggest you call my father, Tom Tedoni. He is 80 years old but very sharp and he has more knowledge than anyone here about our family tree. Please call between the hours of 10am and 4pm if you can. CST

His number is 314-842-1657.

Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave, Thanks so much for the reply. I will give your father a call on the hours you gave. I have my grandmothers passport and re checked the name and spelling of her mothers maiden name. Sure enough it is the same.Tedoni. Same on the ellis island records. The sad part of all this is that all family members have passed on that can give me any more info. Thank goodness I wrote a lot of it down .Does the name Samadenia Tedoni mean anything ? I found that spelling . Thanks again Marie

I never heard of the name you mentioned. But that does not mean anything. Hopefully my father will be able to clear some things up.
