Does anyone know who Conrad Wetz's wife or parents were? Conrad was born c.1788, Offenbach, Amt Herborn, Nassau, Germany, and arrived in Texas in 1845. He had 5 known children: Johann Jost, Anton, Katharina, Johann Georg, and Anna Elizabeth. I think all 5 children came to Texas with their father.

I am also researching the Wetz family in Texas. I do not have Conrads parents, but I would be interested in any information you have on his descendants. I am a descendant of Johann George his son.

I am also looking for the Wetz family. My great grandmother was Clara Wetz (B abt 1881 D abt 1968), she married Wilhelm Schertz (Willie). I can't find anything on her.

My 2nd cousin 4x removed (Sophia Stautzenberger) married August Wetz {[B 1873] parents Johann G Wetz(1836 - 1913) & Anna Helmke(1841 - 1901)} That I know of August was an only child. Is there a chance that August was the brother/cousin of Clara Wetz??

My grandfather was Herbert William Wetz (Bowie Co., TX). He also had a brother Curt Oliver Wetz and sister Hilda Wetz. As far as I know they migrated from south Texas in the mid to late 1800's. I don't know their parents names, but would surely like to know. Any ideas where I can search?

Can't help you with your query, but I was wondering if you ever ran across information on Herbert William, Curt Oliver, or Hilda Wetz.

Angie, you might try the census records for Bexar and surrounding counties for 1860 1870, 1880, and 1900. I hadn't looked at the Wetz site for quite a while, as I have been working on another branch of the family. I think every German family that came to Bexar and surrounding areas is related in some way to every other German family! I keep coming across the same last names.
