Hi
I wonder which place of death is the correct when the State Death Index and Social Security Death Index have different locations.I always go for the State Index.Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

The state index will be the correct one, and based on the actual report of death. The SSDI is not reporting the place of death - it's reporting the last place benefits were paid, which is entirely different, but Ancestry for some reason insists on indexing that as place of death (often not the same at all).

You have to remember the SSDI does NOT show the place of death. There are several posts about this.
