If anyone has information about these families I would certainly appreciate hearing from you. Thomas Crowley NB Canada 1850 and Ruth (don't know maiden name) Calais Me 1879, had two children Emma, Calais 1877 and Bessie, Calais 1879. Bessie married my great grandfather Asa Frost, NB Canada 1882.

Also have seen a reference to Albert Raymond Frost Callais 1890 but cannot seem to link him to Emma or Asa. I know Asa was the son of Eben Ricker Frost NS Canada 1844 and Julia Watson NB Canada 1854.

Ruth's maiden name is Seeley. She died in childbirth and is buried in Calais Cemetery with her infant (Ruth) and other children that passed away. Please contact me I have a lot of information to share on this family.

I have a Frost family that is connected to my dad's line but know little about them. Here is what I have:

Lilla Maud Frost b. 1875 St. Stephen, Charlotte, NB. She was the daughter of John Frost (b abt 1842) and Rachel Welch (b abt 1856). Lilla Maud married Webster Riley (various spellings)in or about the year 1897. Webster Riley was the son of Hugh C. Riley and Elizabeth Valentine.

John Frost married Rachel Welch 25 Sept 1873 in Charlotte County. John Frost was the son of Cynthia Frost. She was born in 1795 (per 1871 Census). John had three siblings that I know of given the age of their mother in 1871. They were James Frost born in 1831; Mary E. born in 1843 and Maria born in 1850. I have not found any credible reference for Cynthia Frost's maiden name nor the name of her husband. This family may or may not be related to a fur trader by the name of John Frost who was living and working at Pleasant Point.

Crowley. George H. Crowley born around 1878 in Charlotte County, NB. I have seen his father given as Clifford Crowley but I have no documentation to confirm this. He married Carrie May (alternate name Caroline) Lawless 11 November 1898 in Calais, Maine. They had a daughter Helen Louise born in 1905. George H. Crowley died by 1919. Carrie Lawless Crowley remarried in 1919. Her second husband was Fredrick Ryan.

Carrie M. Lawless was the daughter of Peter Lawless (born Robbinston, Maine)and Mary Graves (Calais, Maine).

Regarding Albert Raymond Frost, I found a late return for the birth of Mary Marguerite Frost born in Union Mills, Charlotte, NB in 1912. She was the daughter of Albert R. Frost and Evis Hazel Bridge. The late return was made out by her father. It stated that she was born prematurely at Union Mills during a visit. His place of birth is listed as between Milltown and Calais, Maine.

There's the WWI Draft Registration Card that lists his birth as 4 November 1890. By 1917-1918, he was working in Androscoggin County and had a wife and two children.

Albert's parents were Charles Elie Frost and Mary Ann Jones.

Per the 1900 census, Charles E. Frost was born in April of 1847 in Maine. Mary Ann's date of birth was listed as May of 1858. They married around the year 1877 and had ten children nine of whom were living in 1900.

Charles Frost was the son of Lewis and Lavinia Frost.

FWIW, this could get royally confusing, I see the 1880 census record for Thomas and Ruth Crowley in Calais, Maine with two daughters, Emma and Bessie.

There is a marriage record for Thomas S. Crowley and Ruth Seelye in 1876 in Maine.

Is Ruth Mahar/Ruth Seelye the same woman?

I have no idea whether Ruth Maher and Ruth Seelye are the same person. All of the information provided by other people responding to my original message is new and confusing to me.

No Ruth Seeley is not the same as Ruth Mahar. Ruth Seeley died in child birth Oct 23, 1897and is buried in Calais Cemetery next to her new born daughter (Ruth) who died 10 days after her mother.

Thomas Crowley and Ruth Seeley's children were as follows:

Emma Crowley born 1877 died 1889
Bessie May Crowley (Frost) born 1879 died 1950
Maude Crowley born 1885 - 1905

When Ruth died Bessie, Maude and Edna were boarded in Boston, MA.
