GEDCOM generation

GEDCOM generation

Until mid-December it usually took 1 1/2-2 hours to generate a GEDCOM file from my AMT of 70,000 folks and 120,000 records. In mid-December things on ACOM went haywire and syncing with FTM2012 no longer worked and I could no longer download my AMT into FTM 2012. At the same time, GEDCOM generation of my AMT on ACOM servers began taking twelve hours to complete. Forty two hours ago I clicked the button to have a GEDCOM generated based on the latest updates I had made to my AMT. For the last 32 hours it has been stuck on 68% complete. I guess ACOM won't fix the situation unless the whole system is brought down.

So, I'm curious as to where that leaves you, and if you've been able to get any response at all from ACOM. Many of us have felt like we were simply banging our heads against the wall, waiting endlessly on 'hold' and being connected finally with front-line support people who seem to be as in the dark as we are. Have you had ANY luck at all in determining if there is a recognition by ACOM management that a problem exists, or any path toward a solution? My sense is that they care about selling new memberships, and that investment in support is waaaay down toward the bottom of their corporate 'to do list.

I haven't tried to contact ACOM. My past experiences with ACOM support makes me unwilling to tackle the hoops and rings that are rampant at the lower levels of support. My only hope is that the 24/7 attempt to generate my GEDCOM brings down servers and maybe then gets some attention. Like you, I am convinced that ACOM is not listening to customers.
