MILLER family, York Co

I'm hoping to find a birth record and parents for John G. MILLER. According to his death certificate he was born Aug 8, 1863 in York Co., PA and died Aug 3, 1931 in Nashville, Davidson Co., TN. He was the first child born to his parents. His parents may have been John G MILLER, aka George MILLER of Hessen, Germany and Christina, last name unknown.

Also looking for parents marriage either in York PA or perhaps Baltimore, MD. abt 1862 or 1863.

This has been really confusing considering the many Miller families in York Co. They may have lived in N. Codorus Twp.

Many thanks for any help!

Helen

Hi Donna,

Thanks so much for taking the time to send this. The information on the death certificate was given by a step-son, and John G.'s mother's info is very different from earlier census reports and also later info. I believe she came from Germany, not Alsace Lorraine, and I haven't been able to find any Christina with the maiden surname shown. I don't want to sound picky, but there were so many John G and Christina Millers in many locations, and I don't know the actual source of any of them.

I was hoping someone in York Co might recognize these folks. It took me almost 8 years to track down the correct Miller immigrants in York Co, so I guess waiting a bit longer to find this answer won't make much difference. I have looked everywhere I can think of, but maybe as I get to finding the rest of George and Christina's children I'll find what I need.

If you have any other suggestions I'd be happy to hear them!

Again, thanks. You've helped me with a few things in the past and I can really appreciate it!
