I think I know which family your Annie would have been born into but do
not have her listed as one of the children in this family. Believe her
father may have been George Pointer and his wife Almeda. George had three
wives and Almeda was his second wife. One child's name given to me for
about the year your Annie was born, was called Aura, which if you were
looking at poor handwriting on a census, could be Anna.
Names of some of the other children I have in this family include Ollie,
Burlie, Cyrus Moses, Dena, Shellie, Callie, Glennie, and Oral. If you think
this is your family, I can send you additional information and give you the
names of others who come from this family.

I am trying to find information on my ggrandma, Permelia
Francia (or Francis) Pointer b. 5-28-1861 d. 11-13-1937
who married John Marshel Bird b. 11-13-1866 d. 8-1-1937.
The only info I have is I believe my ggrandparents Permelia
and John while they were married lived in Missouri some
where around Jefferson City and possibly in La Plata.
They ended up in Washington County, Indian Territory
(Okla) as one of the Bartlesville pioneer families. I believe
they resided in that area till death. I'm trying to find out
where Permelia F Pointer comes from, parents, siblings,
locals, etc. Anything would be helpful. All my nearest
relatives died when I was young, including my father, and
were no real family records or anything left behind. I have
heard the Bird side might've come from Kentucky, so it's
possible they came from KY, then on to MO, then OK.
Thank you!!
Lisa Bird

Permelia F. Poynter (Pointer) was the daughter of Lowry and Julia Poynter Poynter. No, that isn't a mistake. Lowry and Julia were cousins. She was born about 1861 in Kentucky and married John Bird in 1885 in Barren Co. KY. According to the 1900 Census in Macon Co. MO, "Melie" had been married for 15 years had 7 children, 7 children living. Their names were: Annie B, James M., Bertha E., John W., Laurie C. Nurest R. and Lerrly G. (Most likely the Lerrly was supposed to be Lowry). I have not researched the Bird children any further, but do have additional information regarding the family of Lowry and Julia. Please contact me directly and I will be happy to send further information.
