Memorial services for Ethel L. Carter, 83, Tyler, were held Thursday, October 14 at Burks-Walker-Tippit Funeral Home Chapel, Tyler, with Neal Nevejans officiating. Mrs. Carter died October 11, 1999, in a local hospital.
She was born October 26, 1915, in Smith County. She lived in Van Zandt County prior to moving to Tyler 47 years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses North Congregation.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton J. Carter, in 1978; and infant daughter, Glyniss Anell Carter.
Survivors include son, Thurman Carter, Carrollton; daughters, Ora Lee Wells, Ardina Bedingfield, Doris Massey and Gail Collins, all of Tyler; sister, Beaulah McCoy, Tyler; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
