Dear Carol,
Thank you for responding to my query about William Cole 1742-1820
Rev.War soldier. Are you referring to the application of a Mrs. Sperry
who went into DAR on William Cole's name? I have seen Mrs. Sperry's
papers and the DAR no longer acknowledges William Cole's serv ice as
listed on her papers. I was hoping that someone else had him as an
ancestor with more detailed service records. If you know of someone
else's application, sure would appreciate learning about it.I have
checked in the Patriot Index and also in the regiments quoted but it is
impossible for me to determine which William Cole listed is mine. I
know he served but I am unable to prove his exact service. Have spent
many hours in the library to no avail. Again, I thank you .
