German cemeteries & churches in Macomb County

I've finally found my 3rd great grandparents Frederick & Hannah Layer in the 1860 census in Erin in Macomb county.
My 2nd great grandfather George Thomas Layer shows he was born in Detroit on his death certificate on Sep 16, 1857.
The whole family then disappears until I find George in Chicago 1900.
I've never been able to find Fred & Hannah's deaths in IL or MI, or any trace of his brother Charles born about 1856 in MI.
I'm looking for the German, probably Lutheran, churches & cemeteries that would have been used in the 2nd half of the 1800s.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, this is an area of MI I've never done research in before.

Have you tried searching on the Seeking Michigan site? I found a Christina Layer who died 1899 in Macomb county. I think it says she's buried in Woldenburg Lutheran cemetery but it's a little hard to read.

Thats my former church of many years & I have the records.
Don't confuse Layer w/ the Leyer family as the spelling is so close.
I know the Ambrose Leyer family. His decendants too.
Erin Twp is a long way from Waldenburg bby Horse & Buggy.

You might want to contact Zion United Church of Christ (Formerly named Evangelical & Reformed), in Mt. CLemens. Many German families from Macomb County are listed in their records. Patricia
