I'm looking for information about Bridget Folan and her family. She was born on February 7, 1896 in Spiddal. Her parents were James Folan and Bridget Joyce Folan. She emigrated to the United States on date unknown. She had nine siblings. Her sister Barbara emigrated to the United States and a brother, Martin, emigrated to Canada. Names of the other siblings are unknown.

I have James FOLAN, born 1861 (son of James FOLAN & Julia) - married about 1900? - to Bridget LYDON, born 1871 - they named their son Martin Joseph FOLAN, who was born March 11, 1904 in East Hartford, Connecticut, USA.

I don't know if I am related. I had Folans/Foleys who lived in Cornamona, Spiddal, and one of them emigrated to Norwood, Mass, so I have been doing some research in those records.

Do you know yet who are the Foley grandparents of Bridget and Barbara Foley, in other words, who are the parents of their father James Foley? I located the marriage record in Gorham, Maine of Charles Kemp and Barbara Foley on 12 Oct 1933, but didn't find a death record for either person. Did anyone move to Massachusetts in that family?

According to the info I've come across my GGF's parents
were James and Julia Folan.

Yes, both Bridget and Barbara lived in Boston,Ma.

My Grandmother died in 1990, Barbara died in 1993
Charles Kemp died in 1966 all of them in Boston.

Hmmm. My Spiddal Foley ancestors were James Foley and Julia Foley (her maiden name was Foley) But I think they were a little too early to be the same as your James and Julia Foley. I'm guessing that you got the parents' names from the marriage record for James Foley to Bridget Joyce?
