Dear Carole:

The information that I have for Richard and Hanna is undocumented. Richard b.abt 1640 is the son of Richard Goodwin and Bridget Fitts, Both born abt. 1600 His grandparents were Daniel Goodwin and Dorothy Barker, m.abt 1615 in Yoxford, England

Richard and Hanna's son Richard b.1669/70 was married to Hanna Major b.18 Mar. 1673 at Glouster MA, m.26 Mar 1692.
The documented information that I have starts with Daniel Goodwin b. abt 1732 and Sarah Hunt, b abt.1737. I am not sure but I think Daniel was born in England but I believe Sarah was born in Tindist MA.. I am directly related to this line of Goodwins as far as I can tell. There is a lot more work
to do yet.

I hope this info will help or answer your questions
Please E.mail me if you have more questions. I will try to answer them for you

Barry you have the same info I have. I have an old bible
with some of the Records in it.

My Ggrandfather was George Goodwin 8/15/1808 - 4/8/1873 he was married to Martha A (king,Bing,Ring) 11/11/1852 it is to hard
to read her last name on paper it's so old. 10/2/1826 -11/13/1887 I have a photo of the stone but no idea where it is
They had at least 4 children Maria 10/10/1853, William A.
6-14-1856(my Grandfather), Florence E 7-8-1858 and Hannah E. 11-9-1860.

I know that most of the Goodwins settled in Newbury & Newburyport, also Salam all around the north coast of MA
They also came from ME, & NH, originally from England, but
I have been unable to find where they entered US or even
if it was Canada

Dear Barry and Carole,

I too have a confusion going on.
in my searches I have records of
Richard Goodwin, b. abt 1640 m. 1666, son of Richard Goodwin/ Bridgett Fitts.
However,
Bridgett Fitts is also indicated in Records as wife of a Henry Travers, and Mother to at least 3 children around the time she was supposedly married to Richard Goodwin.
in Further Studies, Lds, Records and microfilms indicate that it is possible, that Richard Goodwin who married in Gloucester, Mass, to Hannah Jones in 1666, may have come to the new lands as an indentured servant to the Jones Family, and that his name was spelled Goodwine in some areas, hense following Goodwine leads.
Upon doing some of this research, I came upon the Goodwins of Hooe, Sussex, England. If I could find the passenger listing and history of the Jones' It may help clear things up.
