I'm looking for information about the Barklow family that settled in Coos Bay and Mertle Beach, OR. I know research was done on them, but it was before the days of the internet.

Justin, What would you like to know about the Barklows that settled near Myrtle Point,OR. in 1873? I compiled a book(1988)now over 650-pages, which includes over 3,500 of them(over 5,000 if you include the supplement). The Family Reunion Picnic is this upcoming weekend, July 16, at the Coos Co. Fairgrounds. The Barklows have been doing this for over a century.

Hi David,

My grandmother is Esther Barklow Scott and now Toole. I just visited with her. She so wants to attend the Barklow reunion, but she isn't going to be able to attend. Please give her warm thoughts to all who know her.

Also, please say hi to David Horner (if you see him). He and I lived in the same dorm in Ashland while attending SOSC back in 77/78. We had been friends there for a few months before we figured out we were related.

I just started investigating my roots this year and I knew the Barklow side was heavily documented - I just didn't know where. I'm glad you answered this post.

Where can I obtain a copy of your book and supplement? I'm looking to trace my ancestors back as far as possible. I'd also like to know how Daniel Boone fits into the tree.

I appreciate your help. Perhaps next year I can make the reunion.

You can email me at justin.burns@intel.com or continue posting to this message.

Thanks,

Justin Burns
Son of John Burns and Bernadine Scott.

Also a Coos County Barklow Descendant...

I am looking for my family, and doing a genealogy. I was given David Bartlow's name and email, and will also post this here. My grandmother is Valene Velda Keller, and my Great grandmother was juantia Francis Barklow Keller. I am very interested in corresponding and exchanging information with long lost family members. I am also interested in obtaining a copy of the Book you have on the Barklow side of my lines. Email me at PaganRose@Juno.com Thanks for your time, and this goes out to anyone who writes to me,
Blessings, from your cousin Jennifer Harvilak

My Aunt Bernice Kiser/Lowry attended a re-union awhile back. I show a John Alexander McWhirter married to a Flora Ellen Barklow who's father was John Barklow. There daughter Margaret, My Grandmother lived in Kansas. Does your book show this. I now reside in Oregon.

Lennie Jo, I'm glad I could finally connect with someone from your aunts line. I've known cousin Bernice (Kiser)Lowry/Shapiro for many years. In 1986/87, I lived in Vacaville,CA. and used to pick her up some Sat's and drive into S.F. for some research at Sutro. Yes, my book has John Barklow(1815-1871) and several thousand of his relatives. David, I found out about this web site in Women's DAy
mag. I am the daughter of Richard Barklow who
lived in Myrtle Point, OR until his death last year.
I am interesteed in finding out about my father's side
of the family as my parents were divorced when I was
quite young. Where can I get a copy of your book?
