He is in my family tree. Resided in Hartford, CT with his wife
Julia LeClerc and their three children (two boys and a girl).
The girl was my grandmother Eva Blanche Garneau. They later moved
around Massachusetts and finally settled in Montreal
Quebec. He and Julia are buried in Hartford.
He died in the late 40's. My father still has his
burial prayer card.

From my great grandparents to my uncle right now, my family has been in CT. I was born there, my father grew up there. Not too far from Hartford either. In Willimantic. Now, our little tree of Garneau`s only has one hope of continuing, with my 10 year old brother. We live in Michigan now.

Most of the family tree has a "François-Xavier Garneau" in their lineage.
A famous one was a writer 1809-1866.
He is well known by his "Histoire du Canada Français".

My husband's grandfather was Francoise Xavier Garneau who emigrated from Paris to Hartford CT. His mother moved to Montreal, met his father and were married in 1929. Her name was Eva Blanche Garneau and she had two brothers. There are many Francoise Xavier Garneau (must have been a popular name). I am trying to do his family tree.

I am trying to do my husband's family tree. His grandparents were from Paris and emigrated to USA. His name was Francoise Xavier Garneau and his wife's name was Julia Garneau (nee Leclerc). They lived in or near Hartford CT. His mother Eva Blanche went to Montreal, Quebec to live and work and met and married his father in 1929. She had two brothers. She passed away in Montreal, Quebec where she is buried in Montreal Roman Catholic Cemetery in Feb. 1957.

Hi: My husband does not remember much about his mother's family. His grandfather was married to Julia LeClerc and they came to USA from Paris, France (at least that what is on their wedding photo). My husband's mother was born in Connecticut and had 2-3 brothers. We have photos of them.

Hi: Yes, I do. I think he was born in Quebec, Canada; married in Paris, France to Julia LeClerc; lived in or near Levi, Quebec after marriage; emigrated to Massachusetts, USA and then to Hartford, Connecticut. My husband's mother was born in Mass., moved with family to Conn., then she went to Montreal, Quebec to work and met his father and married on Sept. 29, 1929 in Montreal, Quebec.
Does any of this sound familiar.

Cheers, Helen
