Hello, I'm looking for information about my great great grandparents John and Elizabeth Jarabek.I'm interested in their ancestor's and descendants. They immigrated to the US from Kuklo Slovakia in 1901 and 1906. They settled in Cleveland Ohio. According to John's death cert. his mother was Rosie Komornik and his father was named John Jarabek as well. John Jr. was born 1860 and died 1-11-1916. Elizabeth was born 9-10-1860 and died 9-29-1921.John was a laborer in a foundry. They had 7 children-Joseph Jarabek, Andy Jarabek,Steve Jarabek, Dick Jarabek, Helen Jarabek, Louise Jarabek, and Martin Jarabek. Andy went to S Dakota, Steve went to N Dakota, Joseph had 2 boys and 2 girls and worked for the railroad and was a shoe maker. His youngest son Ed was a pilot in a war. They lived in Cleveland. Dick went to Michigan and was a farmer with 4 sons. Helen was a seamstress with 3 boys and 2 girls through her marriage to Paul Flamik, Louise had a daughter named Louise and a son named George. If you know any more about any of these people please email me! Heathertcarter@yahoo.com I would love to hear from you! I have pictures to share as well if anyone is interested. (and just to add to another thread, most of the Jarabeks I know are tall!)

Hello, I'm searching for information about the wife of their son Martin Jarabek. Martin was born 1898 and passed away 1967. He married Susan Hasak about 1919. They lived in Cleveland on West 137th Street (1930 census).

Susan was the daughter of John and Julia Hasak. Julia married Michael Lorenz/Lorencz after John Hasak died. I'm researching the Hasak line and need help with this branch of the family ... Thanks. Mary

How awesome to hear from you. Everything I know about the people you mentioned comes from Lucille Schultz, who is my grandpa's sister. Or to you she would be the daughter of Martin and Susan. She lives in Cleveland and although she is getting up in years is very bright and sweet. She has sent pictures and some info.I can share it with you. Please email me off of the msg board at heathertcarter@yahoo.com and I will send you all the contact information and whatever else I have. I believe I have a death cert. for John Husak but not Julia. On there it says that John's father was Jacob Hasak and his mother was Mary Chech, both from Austria and that he himslef was born in Slovakia. I have also learned that Julia's maiden name was Ruzycka.
Also I have come to realize that Lucille insists the name is HUSAK but elsewhere I see is HASAK. Perhaps it changed when the family immigrated or maybe there was some kind of disagreement?
Anyhow, glad to hear from you, hopefully I'll have some info and pics that you'll enjoy. hope to hear back from you soon!
Heather

Heather, Thank you for the name of your John Hasak's parents. I tried to obtain your John Hasak's Dec. 22, 1935 death certificate from the Ohio Historical Society, but it wasn't available as he isn't listed in the index.

The parents of the John Hasak I'm researching are Gyorgy Hasak and Maria Majoros. John and his brother Peter Hasak are listed together as boarders in a home in the 1920 census in Cleveland, Ohio. I found Peter Hasak died 1924 in Cleveland, but don't know what happened to his brother John. I was hoping your John Hasak might be the John Hasak I was researching. I sent more information to you at your home email address. Thank you.
