Looking for any info on Samuel Schwartz, married to Rachael ?, I think in Russia. They had several children, Joe, Ben, Ann, Sarah (Shirley), and Rube in Cholem, Russia. Settled in Philly, PA after 1902, and had 2 more children: Florence and Mollie. Any info at all would truly be wonderful. Rube is my grandfather and still alive at 98, and would love to re-know his history. The women's married names are Clark, Ellis, Steinberg, Feldman, and Weiss.

In response to the inquiry re Samual, I have a Samual Schwartz in my lineage about the same time frame. I know little more than he had sisters - Lida, Bess and Elizibeth Margaret Schwartz (b 15 Feb 1861 d. 1933 in Ohio). This Samual's father was Jacob Schwartz, possible of Baden Baden, Germany, who's father was Christ Schwartz. Need any info anyone has on this Samual and Elizibeth Schwartz, and their ancestors. Respond to message or e-mail luckydog@cyberback.com. Thanks.

I am Rueben's niece, Florence's only daughter. Since your grandfather, and Molly are deceased, there are no more living children of Samuel and RACHEL Your grandfather had four children, Sonny, Shirley, Doris & Steven. You have the names of his siblings incorrect (as well as the sisters' married names). Not Cholem but St. Petersburg. They arrived in the US after 1905, although Joseph & Benjamin arrived by themselves prior to 1900. One of the girls (Miriam) died in Woodbine, New Jersey before Mollie and Florence were born, 1908 and 1912, respectively. As the only girl of the last six children born to the family, I am the repository of all the ancient information. You can contact me if you wish. Robert (Molly), Stanley (Ana); and I are your second cousins (or first cousins, once removed).
