Can you tell me what Ernest and Calvin's fathers name was? Did they have an aunt named Molly Tubb who married Robert Lindsey in Alabama. If so she was my grandmother who I never knew because she died when my father was only seven of so. Thank you in advance. Molly

You may have already got an answer to your question about Ernest Tubb's father but if not...here it is. His name was Calvin Robert Tubb Sr. Ernest's brother was a Junior. I don't think Calvin Sr. had a sister namd Molly.

Thank you for your reply. Yes I have found much more on our Tubb/Tubbs line and know that they are indeed part of the same line as Ernest. One of the cousins has traced just how and said her grandmother told her he used to stop off at her house for some good home country cooking when he was passing through on his tours. I had only my grandmother's nick name of Mollie to go on and she died in 1917 of the flu when my father was only six. Her given name was Mary E. Tubbs b. 1869 in Franklin Co. AL to Lucien B. & Mary Ann Hall Tubbs. Her grandparents were William M. & Mary Tubbs and great grandparents were Joel C. & Sarah Huff Tubbs of Perry Co. (then Franklin) AL. Mollie's other siblings were Sarah Ann, Tompsie J, Lucy Bell, James Frank, Samuel Lee & John Henry Tubbs. I am hoping some of these names will look familar to you and that I can find pictures of this line.
Thanks again, Molly Ann Lindsey

I just know that my father-in-law, C.R.Tubb Jr., Ernest's brother, always said that all Tubb/Tubbs were related. and he often spoke about a yearly(?) family reunion in Bernice, Louisiana. C.R. died in 1994. None of my immediate family has ever been to this reunion. Have you ever heard of it?

I am a son of Calvin Robert Tubb Jr. I recall hearing my dad speak of Uncle Joe and Uncle Charlie but I never met them. I also recall hearing the name Aunt Fannie but I never met her either. Rosa is correct about Dad saying the Tubbs and Tubb families were related. the story I heard was that a Tubb married a Tubbs. But when I was doing some research, I discovered that one of our ancestors just took the 's' off of his name for some unknown reason. I don't know if that really happened or not. People do funny things, not thinking about how it may affect people in the future. I have a brother, Billy Lee Tubb, who changed his name to X Lincoln. That will be a nice puzzle for someone to try and unravel sometime in the future. I was wondering if you were born a Knowles or if you married a Knowles. I recall that my great uncle, J.B. Tubb and his wife, Abbey, raised four Knowles boys: Billy, who was a highly decorated soldier in W.W. II; Percy, Truet and Ernestine. I don't recall the circumstances as to why they raised these boys but I recall them all as being part of our family. Ellen Tubb, my paternal grandmother, was married to my grandfather, Calvin Sr., when their five children were born: C.R. Jr., Jewel, Opal, Lucille, and Ernest. I have her maiden name written down somewhere but I don't recall it without looking it up. There are many large families involved in my ancestry and it can get rather complicated because of divorces, deaths and multiple marriages. I hope this helps a little. God bless.
