my mothers name was Alice Dorthy Quintero-she was the 2nd child born to Angel [Ingle} Quintero and Margaretta Abson;Angel was born Aug. 1, 1892 in San Diego, Calif where he left home in his teens to live with and be an apprentice with a butcher.angels parents [as far as we know] were Angel R. Quintero [my grandpas middle name was Peter] and Maria Romeria--Maria was from Arizona and the story goes that she and her little brother were away from the homestead when it caught fire killing the family--Maria and her brother were found and adopted them thus bringing them to Calif.
Angel R. Quintero was from San Diego, Calif [we think]
Angel P. Quintero had a horse and wagon with which he would go to the towns selling the meat he had butchered. Later in life we'd worked at the Piggley Wiggley Market as a butcher with his daughter-my mother-when i was little [i am 61 y.o. now]. He had brothers named Joseph [who married Louise/Esther Goldberg in 1920-he was 24/she was 25] Leonard [who married Hallie Hanes in 1020-he was 21/she was 18] and a sister named Zola [ who married fred Ricard in 1914-she was 17/he was 20].there was also an "uncle Jack" who was married-a Jack jr.-Louis Quintero []who was an engineer] and married to Gertrude Cook [who was a nurse]-Richard Quintero-Ascension [who was a chauffer] married to Mary Clayton {who was a presser/pressor]-Joseph Quinteros occupation was painter while his wife Louise/Esther was a waitress- he was also married to/living with Rachel Oliver who died of t.b.-my moms cousins were Paul I. Quintero and Rita Quintero who worked at the shopping center in National City, Calif.;Zola had a daughter that her mother raised named Edna Ricard-another daughter named Merie Mayne-and a son nam,ed Albert Bouchere-there are also the names Joseph Leonard Quintero
Mary Louise Quintero
Charles Richard Quintero
Robert-Billy-Quintero
and Doloris Quintero [occupation auto painter]
this info comes from a ledger book that my grandma Margaretta Quintero had pased to her daughter. Also, my greatgrandfather Angle R. Quintero had committed siucide by jumping off the roof of a San Diego hsspital/nursing home and this article was written up in the S. D. newspaper according to my cousin Sandy. My aunt {Angels' daughter} said the two brothers didnt look "Mexican"- they were "tall with light brown hair and green eyes".
This is all the information that I have on my grandpa-if any one else has anything else to offer please email me ---thanks in advance ---Ron

Hello Joe, it is great to meet someone from my grandpas side of the family-was your grandpa an auto painter at one time? My grandma had kept a journal with family names in it and it said my great uncle was married to Rachel Oliver, and she had died from TB.,and she also lists a Louise Goldberg who was a waitress- I am not sure if they were married because my grandma had by Louises' name "divorced" and my aunt Reta (Angels' oldest daughter) seems to remember them as not being married [but isn't really sure as she was just a little girl when your grandpa was around]. Was your dad Joseph Leonard Quintero?, also the names I show in grandmas journal are Mary Louise- Charles Richard- Rita *she use to work in National City at the shopping center[ I can't remember if she was a sales clerk or waitress- I'll have to ask my aunt Reta ] and the last one in that list is Robert - Billy. So, these names are the ones in your message, do you remember hearing of an aunt Zola?, or uncle Leonard? You can contact me directly at my email address [crowellbyron@cox.net] - its great hearing from you- ttyl- Ron

Hopefully, someone is still interested in acquiring some information to add to the "grandpa Quintero" genealogy after these few years. My relationship is to Leonard Quintero who married Hallie Hanes in 1920. I was their only grand-child, a female, born to their only son. I would appreciate hearing from anyone interested in this Quintero lineage.
