Congregation of the Humility of Mary

I am trying to locate information about Sr Mary Evelyn (Rose Tyrrell) who entered the convent in Ottumwa IA in 1941. She attended Ottumwa Heights College and St Joseph Hopsital College of Nursing. She became a RN in 1949.

I would really like to have a picture of her in her habit and a graduation picture. And of course any information about her during her time there, 1941-1957.

Thank you.

The Congregation of the Humility of Mary was founded in France in Napoleonic times. As a small congregation it emigrated to the USA and settled in Pennsylvania (http://www.humilityofmary.org/index.html ) and later some nuns migrated to Iowa (http://www.chmiowa.org/contact.cfm). The latter web-site looks a likely source for information. There is a contact page that gives postal details and an email form. You should address your query to "Sister Archivist".

Thank you very much for your reply.

I have been in contact with the archivist and have received what information they have. The problem is that the motherhouse and most of the records burned in a fire in 1957.

I was hoping maybe someone else had some information to share.
