I'm researching my family history and I'm having difficulty finding information about my Grandfather, Richard Martin Warren b. abt 1902. He was apparently "adopted" from British Guiana (Guyana) but when he joined the Army he found out he was not an American citizen.

Could you provide any leads, names, birth records..... anything?

Can anyone recommend a site to research birth and adoption records from about 1900-1905? My Grandfather was adopted from British Guyana around that time but it may not have been a legal or well documented adoption.
