There was a Bill (William) Brosnahan/Brosnan who lived in Dwight St., Holyoke, MA who I think was a member of this family but his name appears in no record. There was a neighbour from the same townland also named Bill Brosnan/Brosnahan. One of the two was killed in an accident in Holyoke in the late 1920's or early 1930's.I would like to ascertain which of the two Bill Brosnan's was accidentally killed. Many thanks, Pat.

I Have seen a photograph of Patrick taken circa 1912 in Holyoke. It included five of his siblings namely James, William, Thomas, Stephen and Cornelius.James, a shoemaker returned to Ireland shortly afterwards. His sister Mary married Griffin at home in Ireland but died very young. Brother John remained at home on the family farm. I don't know what happened to Bridget. You should have many Brosnan relations in the Holyoke and Springfield areas.
I saw in another post where Patrick married a Johanna Griffin. Would she have been from Goulin, Lispole, in the same parish as Foherough.
I may be able to get some more info on Patrick's family. Pat.

I was able to get a copy of that same photo from Cornelius' daughter. The obit for Patrick T. Brosnan lists his wife as Joan Griffin (Johanna). His 4 sons John P., James T., William F. (my grandfather), and Austin J. The obit may also have only listed his surviving siblings of John, Thomas, William, and Cornelius and Mrs. Patrick (Bridget) O'Dowd of Ireland.
The obit lists his parents as Thomas P Brosnan and Elizabeth Sullivan (not O' Sullivan). any further info would be appeciated.

On February, 7, 1837 John Brosnan married Mary Sheehy. They had the following children:
Thomas, July 7, 1840 (He married Elizabeth O'Sullivan).
John, June 4, 1843 (He married Johanna O'Sullivan).
Mary, March 11, 1846 (She married James Ashe, Kinard East.)
Patrick, Novemeber 3, 1848.
William, April 18l 1852
William, May 7, 1854
Stephen, October 27, 1857
James, November 7, 1860.
I presume Patrick, William Stephen and James emigrated. John married to Johanna o'Sullivan settled in Goulin near Foherough.
A cousin of yours from Foherough is visiting Boston shortly and may like to meet you. You may contact me direct on cahillane@hotmail.com if you wish to be put in touch with him. Pat.
The Springfield Republican newspaper has the deaths of Patrick and Johanna. More on that later.
