I too am having a ton of trouble finding a list that consists of My Great Grand Father, Henry william Wehner D.O.B 2-9-1873, and his brother Charles F. Wehner...I know they came to the US in 1882..somehow...They Both lived in Cook County Illinois after arrival, but that is all I can find...Can anyone direct me or help me figure this out? I have literally searched every list I can find....
Thank You So Much!

I am in the same boat looking for my Boese family. I need this info since my great great grandmother Minnie (b. 1848) is listed as a widow on the 1900 census. I do not have the name of my great great grandfather. I am hoping he made the trip too. She too lived in Cook County IL. Maybe they came on the same ship?

LostStar383,

LostQuays here.. Here's an interesting passenger list...

Looked at your family tree and based on the info you've researched, here's a passenger list that fits your BOESE family.

The husband / father who travels with them is "Peter".. It does look like Peter to me...

As for Minnie... she could have been " Wilhelmine"... "Wilhelmina" which translates to Minnie...

The passenger list has her as " Wilhelm" but is a female...

The children who travel with them are Gustave, Theodore and Emil (just 9 mo)

Here's the Ancestry link... look forward to your reply!

THANK YOU! I am definitely going to look into it. How likely do you think it is that they listed a girl baby as male?

It's easier just to "ditto"... I've seen all kinds of errors when "ditto" was marked line after line. Even my own ancestors were "dittoed" as Germans when in fact they were not. They had traveled with a group from my ancestral town which were also listed as Germans.

If the ages, time-line, names are very close to what's on your tree, then consider doing a research on "Peter" from this family.

I do think it's them though. Consider it a lead... but best to prove it to yourself though....
