Surnames: Ritchie, Ross
Looking for any information on Willelmina Ritchie b. 1841 in Urray Scotland with 3 children - Martha Jane b.1860, Jessie b.1865 & George William b.1867. Family was living in Inverness at 1851, 1861 & 1871 Scotland Census with maternal gdmother Jane Ross b.1803. Her parents were Malcolm Ross b.1765 & Grizel Cameron b.1764. Jessie Ritchie immigrated to the US in 1879 & George in 1880 and they settled in Newport RI. Looking for any info on the husband of Willelmina (Ross) Ritchie (could have been James) and the death of Willelmina and Jane Ross. If you lived in Inverness and immigrated to the US in 1880 what port would you leave from? Also, is it possible to get birth records for George William Ritchie who was born 4/17/1867 in Inverness Scotland. Where does one go to get such records? Thanks for any help you may offer.

Hi

Much information on Scottish records during the 1800s nac be gained for free from www.familysearch.org

It shows that a James Ritchie and Williamina Ross married in Inverness on 21 Aug 1863 had three recorded children all born in Inverness Scotland

George born 01 Aug 1863 (died 09 Nov 1864)
Jessia Millar born 01 May 1865
George William born 17 Apr 1867

Copies of the marriage and birth certificates can be viewed online at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk for a small charge.

Best regards
