Classification: Query
Surnames: Haemmerer, Jockel, Hoagland, Gabler
As per the Kings County death certificate number 4467
Gerhard A Haemmerer, age 80, 27 Feb 1925
Film #2047298 (looking for a newspaper obituary)

It is assumed that a daughter Anna, Charlotte, Rose and Christina as well as the wife Catharina Antonette (Bartels) were still around at that time. Charlotte seems to be married to an Anthony Jockel(s) and Christina may have the name Hoagland with daughter Dorothee. Rose married in Oct 1892 at All Saints Church, Brooklyn to a John Gabler Jr.

You can double check at the following site but it appears that he didn't have a death notice in the Brooklyn Eagle.

http://www.fultonhistory.com/fulton.html

Attached is his wife's 1938 death notice, in case you haven't seen it yet.

Oh, this is great. You made my day. Thank you very much.
This obit clears up a whole lot of uncertainty. WOW!

WWW.Fultonhistory.com does not have all the Brooklyn newspapers. Nor does the site have every year available. Suggest you write to the Brooklyn Library 10 Grand Army Plaza Brooklyn, NY 11238

In this instance the Fulton site does have the Brooklyn Eagle death/obit pages for Feb 27, 1925 and the days immediately after and I looked at every one and I did not find a Hammerer death notice or obit but, of course, it could be in another newspaper.

That's OK in this case we have the county records.

that's good to know but perhaps they didn't use Brooklyn Eagle. It could be in the Brooklyn Union Standard or another paper.
