I'm Looking for information on a Rachel McNeill (1876-?)Her parents were William John McNeill(1835-1911) Margaret Kernohan or Kernoghan (1833-1912). Rachel married a man by the name of William Jamieson (1874-?)in 1910 and they had four children William (1912-1986) Robert (1914-?) Margaret (1916-?) and Mary (1918-1986). They lived in Northern Ireland around Ballymena.

Mary Jamieson in 1936 married a man named James Thompson (1913-1975)(His parents were James Thompson 1875-? and Margaret McFaul 1876-?)and they went on to have 6 children of those six my Grandfather William James Thompson (1937- ) was born.

James and Mary moved out to Australia in 1951

If anyone has information on the McNeill's and Jamieson's and even the Thompson's it is greatly appreciated.

That's my family right there thank you so much for the information, some of which I already knew for instance I knew William Jamieson had married Isabella McNeill. I did find the 1901 census record for the McNeill's which is on my family tree.

How did you find this information? I've been looking for awhile and because I'm in Australia it's a bit difficult.

Are you certain this is my William McNeill who was married to Margaret Kernohan? Because I looked for a record of his death on this site and I couldn't find anything for the year 1898.

Found the marriage on emeraldancestors.com
found there fathers names from ancestryireland.com [this site has more information on birth/baptism & marriages, they are transcribed from the original records. The will from the PRONI site. There no site that has complete BMD's for Ireland.

It's about 3am here (Australia) and I'm just about to head to be and thought I'll check my email and there was a reply to my message board.

Yeah I have noticed that Ireland doesn't have a designated births, deaths and marriages database, it makes trying to do family research. And I discovered last night that the census records from the years 1821-1891 were destroyed some by fire and some by the government.

I might check out the ancesrtyireland.com site tomorrow I think the problem is there are just too many William' and James' that it makes trying to get the correct person very hard especially if you don't have all the information.

Just curious your not related to me in some way are you?
