Gustave Petzsch - 1847

I'm looking for a record for Gustave Constatnin Petzsch who, according to a book on German pioneers in Ohio, came to America in July of 1847. In particular, I'm trying to find if his wife Marie was with him.

I just happened upon your post and wondered if your Gustave Petzsch could be my Gustav Pietch. Although mine is supposed to be married to a Johanna, the same as my grandmother Johanna Pietch. This is, I know, a shot in the dark....but maybe?
I really don't have much information about him and am just starting to delve into my family, now that I've done as much as I can on my husband's family.
Let me know what you think.

I'm afraid that I don't know of my Gustave Petzsch marrying a woman Johanna, though that doesn't mean he didn't as he was widowed in 1881 and I'm not sure when he died.

My great great great great great aunt Eve Margarethe “Marie/Mary” Heiner married Gustave Petzsch sometime prior to 1859. Gustave was in America as early as 1847, though I’m unsure if they married in Germany or America. I’ve found Gustave Petzsch listed consistently in Cincinatti city directories from the 1850s to 1890.He’s listed with wife Marie on the 1860 and 1880 Cincinatti Census (I haven’t come across the 1870 for them yet). Gustave and Mary had at least one child, Mary Petzsch Suessman, who was born on December 23rd, 1864. Up in to at least the 1870s he was the proprietor of the Main Street Shades saloon and restaurant. He appears to have retired from by 1880, however, and took up boarders in his house. Marie Heiner Petzsch appears to have died in Cincinnati on January 7th, 1881, and was buried in Spring Grove Cemetery. As for Gustave, I’m unsure what happened to him at the moment. The last sign I can find of him is the 1890 William’s Cincinatti city directory. He isn’t listed in the 1891, 1892 or subsequent city directories that I can see.

Thank you for replying so soon. I guess I'm totally mistaken in my theory about Gustav. I don't really know too much about him or his wife, as my family always seemed to be very reluctant to talk about earlier relatives.
I just recently found out the names of my dad's grandparents and, as I said, am just beginning an intense search for info.
I can't connect any of the wonderful info you sent with any of my own relatives. Maybe later, when I know more about them.
Thanks again
