The name ARNO is generally thought to be Italian (Arno river in Italy) but there is a branch from Canada who were formerly known as Arnaud/Renaud (sounds like Arno) who are French Canadian. Please contact me if you are working on that line.

My people all came from Canada to the Ohio Valley prior to 1875 and I did not try to locate anyone they left in Canada. Good luck in your search. Sharon

I am not working on the Arno line but there is a Florida branch via Menorca and Spain that is Arnau, pronounced Arno or Arnow. Not much help to you but I'm proud to be one

As far as I know my family came from Canada into the Ohio valley. I am tracing Francis Xavior Arno (Renaud/Arnaud) AKA Samuel Arno. I have been able to prove most of my lineage by research I had done in Canada. If I learn anything more I will keep you in mind. Thanks for respondng to my inquiry and good luck!
