Dear Jackie, Have you tried www.familysearch.org.
The town of Blackburn is in Lancashire, England, from whence sprang all Blackburns.
Earliest record I found was John de Blackburne ( Knight) born 1720 in Wiswall, Lancashire.
My great grandfather was Fergus O'Connor Blackburn married Miss.... Seddon.
Regards,FW

Frank-I am writing a book on a branch of the Blackburn family from Lancashire. Would love to communicate with you, and exchange some names... My Blackburns lived in Manchester, Newton-le-Willows, Oldham... all in Lancashire. My genealogy goes back to my 5th great grandfather, William Blackburn who married Mary Pearson. William was born ca. 1760. Am interested in knowing more about Lancashire Blackburns, and maybe, just MAYBE finding someone who is related to me through my Blackburn line beyond my great great grandfather, who is the topic of the book.

I do not know of any connection. I am gathering descendants of my great great grandfather Alfred Lamb Blackburn, born in 1849 in Lancashire. I have only a short list of Blackburns beyond him.

Wish I could help. I have gathered quite a large amount of information about Alfred, but beyond his parents I have nothing on the Blackburn line. My Blackburns were Latter-Day Saints, and left England between 1869 and 1890 or so. Alfred's father Samuel was not close to his family, and so I really have very little on his ancestry. I have back to his grandfather on his Blackburn line, but, nothing further despite my efforts.

Vincent is not a name in any of my Blackburn lines--There are quite a few Blackburns out there, and so many lines which connect someplace but no one is exactly sure how.

No--my previous message did not really deal with Pennsylvania Blackburns. Your reply should have been just a message to the message board--as it would have been better recieved by the message board. Its smarter to start a new message, rather than reply to another's message unless you think their is a direct correlation.

Sorry, we do not connect. All my Blackburns went directly from England to Idaho and Wyoming.

Do any of your Blackburns connect with Thomas Winfield Scott Balckburn, born 11/3/1849 in Tennessee, died March 12, 1925. Had a daughter named Anna Lydia Blackburn born July 20, 1888 in Olathe, Co and Died July 31, 1943 in Denver Colorado. Buried in Trinidad, Colorado.

Thanks for any information you might have.

My Blackburns came from England, emigrated to Canada, then to IL. There is an excellent Blackburn site for the southern Blackburns. Have you visited it? This line came from Ireland. Sorry I couldn't help. Happy hunting. Doris
