John Bloxom entered Virginia about 1672 and married a Mary (Gerrard, Woodman, or Johnson) shortly therafter. It is his decendants who make up the Bloxom, Blocksom, Bloxsom, Bloxham, Blossom family lines. I have been able to trace the Woodman and William lines of the family. Does anyone have information on the other lines which came through John, Johnson, Thomas, Nicholas, and Richard. What is the story about Richard who was left a shilling in his father's will to cut him off.

Hi - Have Woodman/Watson connection but believe it is what you have already. I have other Watsons connected with Blox. If you will email me what you need in more detail I'll be glad to look it up. From the states you've mentioned I think you probably have this already...but??? Do you know anything about Blocksom, Bloxom, Bloxsom, etc. who went to Huntington, Long Island NY or anyone who was born in and left Huntington? Need help badly!

Great to receive your message. The New York connection has been a mystery with one clue:
22SEP1853 "Died at Philadelphia, age 34, Ann B. [Bloxom] Watson, wife of John W. Watson.
(New York and Berlin, Maryland, papers please copy.)"
So, what do you think?
Al

I too am looking for information regarding the Blocksom line. I have a fairly complete geneology dating back to my ancestor John Bloxom (c.1644-1715). I too am wondering about that shilling thing as my ancestor was his son Richard. My genology is very good from about 1800 on but my main intrest in the family's activities during the Revolutionary War (1775-1783) period. I have very little information other than a name and offspring - often with no birth or death dates. Email me at: theblocksoms@safeplace.net and we can chat.

My great-great-great grandfather was Washington Bloxom. According to the info I have he and Lorena (Lorency or Lurency) Powell were married Jan. 10, 1830. She was the daughter of Henry W. and Mary "Polly" Powell. I have no info on his (Washington's) parents. Jasper Newton Bloxom
