Hello, I am not a Kasal but I have a beautiful painting that was my grandmother's, Lucille Morello Vidal. She was born in 1898 and lived in NEW Mexico most of her life. I am wondering who Maria Kasal is. My grandmother died in 1976 but she had that painting for as long as I can remember along with a several of her dear friend's Georgia O'Keefee's paintings. Does anyone know of this Kasal?

I would be glad to send a picture of it to her family. It is very beautiful.

It's been awhile since I've been here, but I wanted to thank all of you for your help. Secondly, I have some more Kasal information. I remembered, my mom saying that my Great Grandfather, Joseph Kasal lived or was born in Wilbur, Nebraska, which fits with your family, Tom, and his family was all there. He married Mary Charvat, which makes her Mary Kasal. My Grandmother was named, Helen Marie and then her sister was Anne Marie. I think Bill (William) Kasal is one of my grandmother's brothers. Fortunately, I was able to know my great-grandfather (Joseph Kasal) a little before he passed away. He made me several pieces of furniture, and my mother said something about him being a cabinet maker. I still have one of the little stools he made me from a table and chair set, and also, my toybox, and you know that's got to be old! Anyone have any further information, I would really appreciate it.

Hi-I have a painting signed Marie Kasal, that my wife and I bought in a little store in Santa Barbara while on our honeymoon, back in '98... It's a large painting, 3' by 4' , of an arabian horse, sandy colored, with a floral nose halter, purple mountains background, palm trees with adobe watering hole...very Spanish, Santa Barbara feeling.. (allthough all those things could be found in New Mexico, i suppose..) .Is it possible that either your grandmother Helen Marie, or maybe Anne Marie, lived in santa barbara at some point, and painted, and loved horses?...Just another piece of the was the name in the signature on your painting?...How was your painting signed?
