While genealogical queries are certainly on-topic for this board and the list that board posts are gatewayed to, it is not the best place to have your MacPherson queries seen by family history researchers. The primary purpose of this list/board is Clan MacPherson matters.

A better place to post queries are the surname lists and/or boards. To find the MacPherson Message board, just type MacPherson into the Find A Board box at the bottom of any Message Board screen. And since the McPherson version of the surname is more common, you might try joining the McPherson list, http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/surname/m/mcpherson.html . While there is also a MacPherson list, it is rarely used.

By the way, it would help us help you if you mentioned *where* this family lived. Canada, Scotland, USA?

That's why we're here, Barb -- to help one another out. Doing so is never a pain in the neck, LOL! One advantage of this message board system is that one can search ALL the boards at one time. So people searching for your William MacPHERSON and Flora MacKENZIE will find them.

However, by posting on the most promising lists and boards, you up your chances of folks finding them who are not actively searching -- perhaps concentrating on another line right now.

Best of luck in your research,

Valorie

Try looking for more rare names such as Campbell of Murdock

I suspect you will find you kin on this page under Murdock!

If that does not pan out I may have another name.

I will not email you now but you can email me it is under name. If it wasn't for you I would never have known about this message group. The sir name group is best for genealogy this should be used for clan stuff.
