Castles & Feuds

Okay, so the Macqueens are historically a pretty low-key, low-profile clan. In the east of Scotland the Revan Macqueens were small landowners and merely part of the Clan Chattan; in western Scotland they were pretty much a subsidiary of the Macdonald clan.

But (apart from the hazy link with Castles Sween & Skipness) are there any actual castles or towerhouses which were specifically Macqueen strongholds? And were Macqueens ever involved in feuds - or were they just too low-key to be involved in any such thing?

Perhaps you should look up the Jacobite rebellion. This is why my ancestor Dugal McQueen came to America and settled in the Tidelands of Maryland in 1716. He arrived on the ship, Friendship, which sailed from Belfast.
