William Henry Daniels was born about 1852 in Poynton, England, s/o Isaac Daniels and Elizabeth Fletcher. He migrated to St. Clair Co Illinois as a coal miner prior to 1870. He married 15 Apr 1879 Magdalena Boul b abt 1856 d aft 1885 in St. Clair Co IL. He and Magdalena appear in various church records up to 1885 and then they both disappear from the records. I suspect that Magdalena died in childbirth as there is a burial record for their child Anna who died at birth in 1885. Their daughter (my grandmother) Emma K Daniels b 1882 was raised by her grandparents. Family rumors vary about her father's fate from: died, committed suicide, ran off and they are the vaguest of rumors! I have suspected a mining accident but have not found him in any of the online records. William, his brother David, father Isaac, and uncle Samuel all come from a long line of Poynton coal miners and were involved in coal mining in Illinois. If anyone has information on any of these folks, particularly William, I'd love to hear from you! This has been a nasty brick wall of mine for too long!
