My 8th great grandfather Johann Detrich Steinbrecher came to the U.S. from Germany in 1753. He had a son Adam and a son George at the time. Any other info on him or these ancestors would be appreciated.

I am trying to find info on where Johan Detrich Steinbrecher was born. I know he came from Rotterdam Holland in circa 1728. Was he born in Germany?

Surnames: Steinbrecher, Lakenmeyer
Johann Dietrich Steinbrecher was christened on December 28,
1728. His Parents were Henrici S/B and Margrethe Lakenmeyer. This event took place in a Roman Catholic church in Atteln (pronounced "ought'-lun") in the district of
Lichtenau ("light - meadow") in the State of NorthRhein-
Westphalia in "what was then" part of Prussia - now Germany.

Atteln is about 50 miles north of Frankfort. I have a German
Lady researching this for me - I hope. If this does not produce
results, I will visit there myself within the year. Was in
Hamburg when the recent terrorist attack occurred.

There are many Steinbrechers in Germany. The name
Lakenmeyer - I could not find. It may have been something
like "Lachenmeier." Which of Johann's Children do you
descend from. I from Sebastian.

There is more - if you do not already have it.
