I don't think you'll find a passenger list for 1953..

I don't they exist on Ancestry.

The most you could find is a "Border Crossings Record - From Canada to U.S., 1895-1954", but she doesn't appear to be on one.

Records of immigrants arriving at Canadian land and seaports from January 1, 1936 onwards remain in the custody of Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

They do not make it easy.

A mail request must be made and the request must be accompanied by a signed consent from the person concerned or proof that he/she has been deceased 20 years. Proof of death can be a copy of a death record, a newspaper obituary or a photograph of the gravestone showing name and death date. Proof of death is not required if the person would be over 110 years of age.

In addition, applications for copies of documents must be submitted on an Access to Information Request Form by a Canadian citizen or an individual residing in Canada.

If you're in Ottawa you can look at Library and Archives Canada on Wellington.
I found my grandparents and father on that boat (list) - the last sailing to Canada ever. At Library and Archives Canada you don't need proof of death as no information is released (on microfiche/etc.) unless the person has been deceased for 20 years.
