Looking for ANYONE who may have information that I need. Looking for information on Job Babcock and his two sons Benjamin Babcock and David Babcock. Benjamin and David both were Loyalists and served in the "Ward's Blockhouse" I believe the family lived in Orange County, NY until they moved to Ontario. If any of these names sound familiar to you, please feel free to respond.

In response to your message. Our Jacob who was the son of Benjamin was born in 1799. He married Mary Feeble. I have no idea where they moved to but I do know that they lived in Ernestown and Kingston, Ontario.
Benjamin was born in 1753 and fought for the British army in NY during the Revolution. He was a United Empire Loyalist.

The dates all fit but we are not sure who the siblings of Jacob or Benjiman are. I would appreciate any information you have. Thank You, Robena Neil

Just finished a genealogy of the Babcocks for our son's birthday today. In the narration: "Taken from Colonial Records of Rhode Island, Vol. ii, p. 235: 'The names of such as inhabit Misquamicut, who have formerly presented their names to be made free of the colony, do now again present them to the present Assembly (that is, the Colonial Legislature) setting the 28th of Oct. 1688, and are admitted'. Among the names are James Badcock, John Badcock, and Job Badcock.
The following is what I have on Job:
0. James Babcock 1554--

I found another Job Babcock. 0=James B. b. 1554; 1=James B. b. 1580; 2=James B. b. 1612; 3=James B. b. 1641, John B. b. 1644, Job B. b. 1646, and Mary B. b. 1648.
Job b. 1646 married Jane Crandall, c. John b. 1669, Elizabeth b. 1681, Benjamin b. 1673, Mary b. 1674, Jane b. 1675 m. James Braman, Mercy b. 1678, Girl b. 1679 m. William Tanner, Oliver ?, Sarah ?, Hannah ?, Mercy ?, Ester ?.
Job's brother John b. 1644 children had a lot of these names for his children so you have to adhere to birthdates closely. In fact, one listing I have shows John with wife's name Jane Crandall and also Mary Lawton. It may be that Jane left John to marry Job. Who knows. Requires more digging.
