Looking for information on my grandfathers siblings who within a few years of their mother Julia (Hayes) Monahan death in 1912 went to the USA from Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. Their fathers name was Patrick Walter Monahan (b. 1861 d. 1939) I believe some of them went to relatives in Massachusetts and I know that some ended up in Buffalo, NY as my grandfather visited them there in the 1950's. James Herbert (could have gone by the name Herbert)born 1893 not sure where in US he went I think Buffalo. would like date of death? Ellen Beatrice born October 12, 1895 (went by Beatrice)border crossing I found shows she went to an aunt named Mrs. Nellie Hayes, 12 Long Avenue, Northhampton, Mass in 1913 and then in 1919 to an uncle Uncle Maurice L. Hayes, 74 Hayes Avenue Mass. She died January 1964 was married to a Hugh J. Wall. Possibly lived in Rhode Island later in life? curious if they had children? William Francis (possibly went by Frank or Francis) born 1897 on a border crossing I found it says that he went to Mass in 1918, was missing a finger on his right hand and was a hotel clerk. Lived in Buffalo would like his date of death? any children? Either William or James owned a restaurant or so I've been told. Dorothy Lauretta born in 1905 that's all I have on her would like to know what happened to her. John Louis born September 25, 1902, died ??? Would very much like to find their date of deaths and where they are buried? If they had any children etc... The siblings I do have information on are my grandfather Joseph Ronald Monahan, Mary Florence (monahan) Veros, Michael Cyril Monahan. As far as I know my grandfather is the only child who remained in New Brunswick. All of them were born in Saint John, New Brunswick and their father was a shoe maker. Thanks :)

For info in Mass after 1915- you could go to the Mass Archives, they have on microfilm the BMD index for the years 1915-1970(they are getting the records for the years 1915-1920, just don't know how much they have gotten yet)If you wanted to see actual record, you could go right down the street to Mass Vitals and see actual records. Vitals charges $9 an hour for research, that's why I use the Archives first.

www.familysearch.org - is free.

Mass Archives online is only an index of records from 1841-1915 but sometimes it does help to 'play' there also - sometimes it helps with finding records at familysearch.

Records after 1915 you would have to go to Mass Archives.
