I am researching my grandmothers side of the family. Most of these names come from the northern part of Luxembourg around the Baschleiden, Boulaide, Wiltz areas. If anyone has any of these surnames I would be glad to share any information I have with you. I have information from the 1700's up to the present.

Hi,
Thanks for the response. I'm sorry to say that the other surnames don't look familiar to me. My Majerus come from Baschleiden and Grosbous and Wiltz, Luxembourg area. They then settled in Granville, Iowa. Sorry not to be of more help.

Dear Jeff,
Thanks for the response to my query. I can help you go farther back on the Vonbanks. Your John Vonbanks father was Nicholas Vonbanck born on April 12, 1812 in Baschleiden, Luxembourg and died on January 24, 1887. He married on February 10, 1841 to Elisabeth Maro, born on April 16, 1819 in Bondorff, Luxembourg. They had 11 children:1)Elisabeth m. Michael Lamberty (my line) 2) Jean m. Suzanne Schwinen 3)Jean m. Veronica Heiderscheidt 4) Anne-Marie 5) Pierre 6) Nicolas 7) Elisabeth m. ? Hippert 8) Helene 9) Elisabeth m. Nicolas Thill 10) Jean Henry 11) Servais. Alot of the same names, huh, gets confusing.

Nicholas Vonbancks parents were Jean Vonbanck born April 22, 1783 in Baschleiden, Luxembourg , died Sept 17, 1850 in Baschleiden, Luxembourg, married on Feb. 14, 1810 to Elizabeth Wilmes born on Jan 3, 1782 in Kaundorff, Luxembourg and died on Oct 29, 1868 in Baschleiden, Luxembourg.

Jean Vonbancks parents were Henri Vonbanck born in Reimberg, Luxembourg , died on April 2, 1798 in Baschleiden, Luxembourg, married on Feb 25, 1782 to Catherine Majerus died on May 4, 1798.

Henri Vonbancks parents were Joseph Vonbanck and Marie Frisingen.

Elisabeth Maro's parents were Kornelius Maro and Margareta Heinen.

I have lots and lots more information including pictures and letters written during the war. 1946-1948. very interesting, and very sad. I could copy these and send them to you if you would like? Sorry , that I don't have anything on the Heiderscheidt line. Let me know.

Your cousin,
Doug Negus

I'm not sure. My Jacoby line is pretty sparce. Mine is Joannes Jacobus Jacoby married Anna Catharina Bocholz. They had a daughter Catharina Lamech (Lomeirs) (we don't know why she has a different surname) who married Joannis Marco Binsfelt. They lived in or near Neiderwiltz, Luxembourg. They could also have been from the area of Kruchten Vianden Rheinland, Preussen. Sorry , not much help.
