Maryann; As of this date, it is unknown to me if my G-Gfather had siblings. My G-Gfather, Richard KENNELLY did have a son, John Joseph who was born in Glenside, Montgomery County, Pa. in July, 1879. John Joseph was married in Jenkintown, Montg. Co., Pa. on 10-8-1902 to a Elizabeth Cecilia Flynn. It is unknown to me at this time, if they had children. ALSO, it must be stated, that at the time of John's marriage, his surname has evolved into what it is today; CANALLY. Gene

Gene; thank you for your quick reply. Your John Canally was born about the sane time my G-mother (Emma Pharr Wilson. I know she was about 60 years old when my Mother lived in New Jersey in 1942. Mother said she is pretty sure Emma and John were not married. You might want to look into this. I live in the Piedmond area of N C and have a hard time researching my northern cousins. Again thank you for your help. MARYANN

Hello Gene:
I too have Kennelly / Flynn connections, but different given names. Wonder if there is a connection. My g-g-gf Patrick Kennelly was the son of Daniel Kennelly and Catherine Flynn, all 3 b. Ireland, Pat in about 1836-37. He was in the US and NYC for 50 years at death in 1906.
Sincerely, Judy Herbert

Re: Richard Kennelly in Philadelphia, Pa.
John Kennelly b. 1861in Phila, PA. He was youngest of 16 children. His brother Barnard was b. 1845 PA. Looking for other siblings. John's parents were named John b. 1816 and Bridget (nee Danehy) b. 1818 both born Ire. I have a few clues to 2 possible Ire born siblings about 1842 + 43. But nothing concrete. Could Richard have been one of John's siblings?

The time line for John and Bridget to be the parents of my Richard is right. My Richard was born in Ireland in 1842, possibly in the Cork, Kerry, Kilkenny area. My research has a John Kneely, born(unknown)1850 and died 1907 in Philly. He was close to my Richard, because two of my siblings were interred in his plot at the local cemetery. John's wife's name was Isabella. Gene Canally

Re: Richard Kennelly in Philadelphia, Pa.
Are you certain that the Bridget who was the mother of John and Barnard was Bridget Danehy? The Irish Records Extraction Database shows that Bridget Danehy-Kennelly and her husband John baptised a daughter named Hannah in Boherbue, County Cork, Ireland on October 11, 1846. If Barnard was born in PA. in 1845 it can't be the same family. Even if the dates for Hannah's baptism in Ireland were off a bit, the U.S. census form showing Barnard and family in Philly in 1860 does not list a Hannah.
