My father( Hosea Pipkins, Sr.) was born in Bethany, Texas in 1936.
His father was Marcellus Pipkins born in March 1886,
and his mother was Lois Allen of East Texas.
Lois was the second wife of Marcellus. Marcellus had
2 kids in the first marriage, James and Marcellus Jr.
Lois had 4 kids through her marriage to Marcellus.
Maggie Lee, David, Hosea, and Mary Lee. Marcellus
had at least one brother nad a sister that we knew of.
I believe his fathers' name was William. Marcellus was
said to have been born in Oklahoma on/near a reservation
and moved to East Texas with his first wife.
He remarried after she died. Lois Allen had sisters and
brothers. I can only remember Bertha,Matthew, and Sonny.

The kids of Hosea Sr. are Velma Gail, Hosea Jr.,
Zelda Gwen,Benita Yvette, Carol Annette,Gregory Wayne,
Julian Dale,and Harold James.His first 4 kids
mother was Vernell Ware(1938) of Lovelady, Texas.
The last 4 were his second wife, Nadean Cooper(1938)
DeBerry, Texas. Nadean brought a son into her marriage,
Larry D. Cooper.

Hello:

I've been researching this line of my family today and was surprised to find that most of the information you have was found by me today:

My ggrandmother Elizabeth Pipkin Johnson had a cousin named Arthur Pipkin who lived with her family in 1920. I discovered that Arthur and Marcelous are brothers and their parents were William and Ellen Pipkin. They had a sister name Easter Pipkin Bailey. I believe that William and John (who is Elizabeth's father) were brothers. I have been trying to get some information about this line in my father's tree. Hopefully you have some information that could connect me to anyone in the Pipkin family. Would like to compare notes. All of the children of Elizabeth are gone and I this is the only clue I have found thus far.

This question may be answered elsewhere in the boards but I do not have enough time today to do much looking. My husband was his great grandson. you can email me at msjane1140@aol.com. thanks for alerting me to this. by the way, some of the family spell it Pipkin.

It's been a while since this was posted but WE'RE FAMILY!!

Marcellus' father was William Pipkins. William had a brother named John Bud Pipkins and he was my great great grandfather.

I would be very interested in getting to know more about your side of the family.
