They homesteaded at a farm between Parkers Prairie and Urbank. MN, presently the Maisner farm. They had a family of eight children. I have nore info if you want it. P.S. Hmm...
Now this is starting to sound familar. Maybe we can all tie into the Freudenbergs of Parkers Prairie, MN. Can you fill in any of my details Re: Heinrich Freudenberg (born in 1848) or his brother John born in 1853? John came in 1873 to Ottertail County, MN.
Would like to know more about what was handed out at family reunions.

Hello...
Yes, research is on-going.
More and more people are turning up with ties to these families. You gotta love the internet!
I have a tie to these folks, and just started helping a cousin with a closer tie than mine. All of these surnames turn up... Eggert, Wilke, Zarbok, Grothen, Brockopp, Weber, Freudenberg, and Ruckheim... In addition they are tied to the Diedrich line and the Uhde line. I have some older photographs, and will attach a couple here. I'm interested in sharing info, if possible. I would be happy to share anything that I have.

The first picture is of the Adolph Grothen family. In the back row, left to right is Wilhelm Grothen. He died young, very suddenly. The second boy is Otto Grothen. (My Great grandfather). His wife was first engaged to Wilhelm/William, but after he died, Clara married Otto instead. The third boy is Theodore Grothen, followed by Herman Grothen. In the front row is Elisa (Liz) Grothen, who married John Knapp. Adolph Grothen, the father. Dorothea (Dorothy) Grothen, who married a Pulvermacher... and the mother, Adolphine Weber Grothen. She was married before, and had a boy named Emil Rosin and a girl named Hulda Rosin with her first husband.

The second picture is an Eggert family portrait. The back row, from left to right: Clara Augusta Eggert, married to Frederick Brockopp. Emma Eggert, married a Karger. Henry Eggert. Mattie (Mathilda?) Eggert, married a Thun. Front row, left to right: Christian Heinrich Joachim Eggert. Bertha Eggert, married a Raap. Christian Eggert, Jr. Paula Eggert, married a Hollatz. the Mother, Auguste, maiden name MILLER.

Hope this helps!
Sincerely, Lisa
