My ggg-Grandfather and grandmother came to the US about 1889.
They settled in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. How would I go about finding information on them in Vollmau?
Clement Kachlmeier married Frances Gruber about 1867
Anna Kachlmeier (my gg grandmoter) was born in 1869 (Vollmau)

Thank you. I don't think that these are relatives---yet.
If I was going to look for chruch records, where would I start. My family came to the US in the late 1800's. I have naturalization papers for Clement Kachlmeier, but does not list a city or state. I have not found their ship records either. So I just know Vollmau.
Thank you
Judy

There were multiple death notices and an obit for a for Clemens Kachelmeyer & Kachelmeier (1911), as well as Frances (née Gruber) in 1925.

"Milwaukee's German Newspapers; an index of death notices and related items" (1844-1950).

Indexing Milwaukee's German newspapers continuously since 2007 ... it's about German-American culture, not data.

Gary,
How do I go about getting a copy of the death notice and or the obit from the index you have created? I also have forgotten how to get to your indexes.
Thank you
Judy
