Surnames: Mc Mullin
Tom, your great-grandmother was Elizbeth Mc Mullin - is that her maiden name or married name?

If it is her maiden name then her father would be John Mc Mullin. I did a search of the BC Archives Death Registration Index located at: http://www.bcarchives.gov.bc.ca/textual/governmt/vstats/v_ev...
and I found the following two that hopefully will be of some help.

Name: JOHN HUGH MCMULLIN
Event Date: 1943 5 11 (Yr/Mo/Day)
Age: 74
Gender: Male
Event Place: OAK BAY
Reg. Number: 1943-09-624548
B.C. Archives Microfilm Number: B13179
GSU Microfilm Number: 1953639

Name: JOHN JAMES MCMULLIN
Event Date: 1960 1 29 (Yr/Mo/Day)
Age: 39
Gender: Male
Event Place: PRINCE RUPERT
Reg. Number: 1960-09-002627
B.C. Archives Microfilm Number: B13245
GSU Microfilm Number: 2033302

I did the search by entering Mullin for the surname and telling it to search as a partial match so that it would bring up all McMullins and MacMullins (just in case).

The date period of these indexes are 1872-1980.

And if McMullin was Elizabeth's married name, there's this entry at B. C.Archives:

Name: ELIZABETH MCMULLIN
Event Date: 1964 12 4 (Yr/Mo/Day)
Age: 90
Gender: Female
Event Place: VICTORIA
Reg. Number: 1964-09-015475
B.C. Archives Microfilm Number: B13269
GSU Microfilm Number: 2033722

Hi, the name and spelling of McMullin has not changed.
My grandfather and great grandfather were both Hugh Mcmullin. Big Hugh landed in Maryland in 1896 and moved north and ended up in Winnipeg, There were I believe 4 brothers and a sister. one of the brothers died on the ship, Hester ( the sister) moved to Toronto. Now that is all I have as there were no exact crew list kept back then. There my have been more, as there are McMullins everywhere and they propriated like bunnies. If he came from Ballymena Ireland, we are related.

This may be an old connect but we try anyway. Father in law was Hugh James McMullin. His father was born Ballymena Ireland in 1845. Married Rose Malcolmson and had larg family in Winnipeg. If this is relation, let me know. Ray Brunka
