I am searching for any relatives or ancestors of John Krell, born 1834/5 in Mayrhofen, Zillertal that still live in Austria or are here in the U.S.
Also, I am looking for any relatives or ancestors of Joseph Gredler, born 1862 in, what is listed as 'Zollerzella', Austria, again in Austria or the U.S. I have not been able to locate any town by that name.
Any help or point in the right direction would be very helpful and appreciated.

are you sure for Krell, Krull or Kroll-name? not usual here.
my guess for the Zillertal/Ziller-valley only would be Kröll! a typical Zillertal-name.

The suggestion of 'Zell am Ziller' does make sense.
As for the Krell name, my grandmother only told me that her mother (Elizabeth Krell) was from the Tirol mountains but never gave me a specific location.
I'm off to look at all the links you posted...again, thank you, thank you, thank you.

spoken Krell would sound very similar to Kröll. in our language and also specially in dialect. think she will have "heard" from your grandmother and makes sense.
also when thinking on 'Zollerzella' and "Zell am Ziller" - haha. ;-)

My great grandmother was Maria Schneider Krell, married to John Krell. They were in Blackhawk, CO. She and he both were born in Myerhofen, Austria. I may have more information about them but you may have most of it anyway.

I also forgot to mention, Maria and John were my great, great grandparents. Elizabeth Krell Gredler was my great grandmother and Evelyn Gredler Atwood was my grandmother.

No, I got the day wrong and went up there at the wrong time. I wish I had as there are pictures and other things I would have liked to share with my cousin. The Krells were my gggrandparents on my mothers side.

Oh, that's great! Looks like you'll beat me to Austria then :) We had planned to go but it isn't our next trip, so it may be in another year or two. Do you plan on going to Mayrhofen? I searched far and wide today (online, of course!) for cemeteries in Mayrhofen and couldn't come up with any good leads for finding Gredler and Krell gravesites.
Could we exchange info/pics? I'd be more than happy to share my tree with you. I'd love to hear some of your info, as well.
