Karen Reib- Need help in Bornholm

Classification: Query
Surnames: Jensen, Pedersen, Madsdatter
I just read that Karen Reib passed in 2010. She was so helpful to me in 2003 when I was researching my family. I have misplaced that information and have had a computer crash. I am asking for assistance. Here was the previous communication.

The manifest lists Anna's last address as Fredericksburg, but her father's as Nørregade 16, Rønne and attached is the family in 1921 Rønne census, the son Svend then still at home.

In 1925 and 1930, the last year available, they were at Nørregade 14, Svend no longer with them.

Unfortunately, the Rønne death records for 1952 seem to be missing.

Attached are the marriage record, Amly's birth, and the family's listing in 1901 and 1911 Rønne censuses.

(Birth years for Karl and Svend are wrong 1901 and should be 1898 and 1899)

Flemming,

It was my understanding that all of their information was in Bornholm, not Copenhagen. Was Karen wrong in getting that information?

HRFFW,

Do you know if anyone was able to keep Karen's records that she sent?

I have no knowledge of Karen's data, but the church records are now online and free in the Danish Archives site: http://www.sa.dk/ao/

English instructions for AO: http://www.utilis.dk/ressourcer/2011_Generic_instructions_fo...

With the info you listed their records were easy to find, as Amly's birth record lists her parents' marriage date and place, and the birth records also list the family's address in Rønne which simplified finding them in the censuses.

Do you know if the brother Svend also came to USA?

Here's an exact spelling and birthdate match, but coincidence is possible:

Social Security Death Index
Name: Svend Pedersen
SSN: 325-01-4717
Last Residence: 60622 Chicago, Cook, Illinois, United States of America
Born: 21 Feb 1899
Died: Nov 1973
State (Year) SSN issued: Illinois (Before 1951)

Sven, as well as Carl, did come to the USA. How far back does the information in the church records go? Thanks.

Many parish records date from 17th or 18th century, but some have been lost. The earliest census is 1787.

Most early records are difficult to read because of the old script and poor handwriting.

Here's Carl's grave site and his naturalization card:

HRFFW,

How do we confirm that this is the correct Carl Pedersen? Birth date and origin?
