I have tried to contact some of your family for years to get more information on your clan. I visited Smyrna, South Carolina several times and was told that all of you were down in Florida. I will be out of town tomorrow but will be back on Thursday. I do have more information for your husband and maybe he or you can fill in some of the blanks that I have. Tell Rodger that he and I are fourth cousins once removed. I have researched this/our Childers clan for over 20 years. Contact me at jchild3400@bellsouth.net and we can work without being on a public link.

John and Dulcina Childers were the parents of my gggrandfather James. He and his brother came to Texas after the Civil War. Dulcina had received several pensions for John's death in the Civil War. I will be requesting the pension records sometime this summer. Do you have any additional information too help guide me? I seem to be stuck getting past John and finding out Dulcina's maiden name.

Thanks,
Kimberly
