Has this been asked before? How much info has been released in Canada? I understand that Ontario is very tight but exactly what is out there?

Hi, What sort of records are you searching for?
Pre 1901 to 1911 Census available to search online - 1916 Census for the 3 prairie Provinces - from Ancestry.

Vital Records Birth Marriage Death - Each Province is responsible for these records
Some Provinces have made some records availble - with limited time frames - each Province different.

British Columbia - Birth 1859-1903 - Marriage 1872 - 1936
Death 1872 -1991.
Index online - as well - many of the records have been filmed by Royal BC Museum/Archive and can be seen in full -online.

Search Family Search Org Online - you may find some information.
Land Grands - Military records etc
Post what info you are searching for - there may be persons who have answers.
Cheers, Stella

Thanks Stella. Edward Carl Uimonen landed in Ontario in 1924, he married Dora (date unknown), and he died in Hamilton in 1986.
I know that Ontario has strict privacy laws but simple BMD records would be good. I've thankfully been given some very good links on burial grounds and am attempting to get some info from them.
I'm even trying to contact possible family through social media hoping that may help.
My thanks to all those that have helped me with this enigma.
